2012 December 19 (Wednesday) : First fight?

I had an argument with a princess today.  Of course, we were quickly reconciled, because neither of us remember being so happy without the other and neither of us want to be without the other and both of us long to see each other’s perspective too.  We had just been shopping and I was letting my princess know how I feel about the words of our mouths being creative.  My princess I felt was dwelling on the past more than was necessary and she said “I don’t even know what trust is anymore.” 

I had a personal life experience definition for her – to pay for a lotto ticket, every week of my life, hoping for a chance to go to a fantastic destination like America.  Not simply one ticket but every week as long as I had a dollar in my wallet for as long as I could remember, AND THEN THE LORD shoots me to America like an arrow from a compound bow, suddenly and deliciously WITHOUT the Lotto win.  THAT has built trust like nothing else I can remember in my life.  I try to explain this to my princess.  She talks at the same time. I get upset with my princess and tell her I cannot talk to her if she talks back at the same time.  She breaks down and cries.  I of course, am by her side still, for there still is no other place I would rather be.  I remember the words of Pastor Harold speaking of his princess. “I will die with this woman!”

I too, will grow old and die with THIS princess.  I will be by her side as long as possible, as much as possible, come hell or high water, come rain, come shine, in sickness and in health as long as we both shall live. 

THIS, then is love.  A “click” from the Lord, a knowing that I have felt the click, that my soul “clicks” with Kim’s, like two adjacent pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.  Wow.  My princess cries upon my shoulder.  She apologizes.  I tell her there is no need for her to apologize to me.  That when one of my shoulders becomes soaked with her tears, there is always the other for her to cry on.  I love her.  Simple.  Wow.  I remember what arguments are called in MMI even though I have never been to an MMI lesson.  “Intense fellowship.”  Certainly.

We had spent the morning at the most well equipped old age home in Durand.  Memories of BS Leon Home come flooding back.  Flame Lily too.  Chalk and cheese.  More infrastructure here. This place is well carpeted, there are motivated staff, a live dog, blind, but still beautiful.  He tells me his name is Daniel.  I pet him every time I come past.  He appreciates the attention with the calm certainty of knowing there is more where that came from.  He is after all in a home where he gets lots of it.  A wonderful idea.  Give the old folks a pet dog.  A dog never judges you, always accepts you as you are.  I remember my folks dogs.  How loving, how forgiving.  The lady of the house yelling at them one afternoon or kicking them out the way and there is already forgiveness five minutes later.  More caution, perhaps, but forgiveness. What a heart the Lord has given to some creatures in this world.  We visit with two specific ladies here.  The first is in a wheelchair, turning 90 in a couple of weeks, the other is laid up in bed, having been diagnosed with arthritis of the spine.  Both are lively ladies, appreciative ladies, ladies who have lived full lives, who know what a blessing it is even to walk. 

My mind goes back to Lieutenant Dan, Forrest Gump’s commander in the Vietnam War, giving a perspective on that blessing.  “They even had a priest come and talk to me. He said God is listening, but I have to help myself. Now, if I accept Jesus into my heart, I’ll get to walk beside him in the kingdom of heaven. Did you hear what I said? WALK beside him in the kingdom of heaven?  Well, kiss my crippled ass! God is listening? What a crock of shit!”  And then Forrest’s simple but sublime reply, “I’m going to heaven, Lieutenant Dan.”  Thank you Forrest!  Simplicity in the heart of the simple.

My princess also holds this beautiful simplicity in her heart.   Sometimes she does need time, for her heart has been broken.  Patience, my princess.  Take all the time you need.  Your prince is forever by your side, and if I ever NEED to leave you, I will ensure you are in the company of other princes.  I also know the King of kings dwells in your heart.  Wow.  We come back to the house and finish off the delicious Chinese Food.  Pam is impressed that I use Chopsticks to eat.  My mind goes back to the time where I ate nothing but mango pickle for there was no choice.  The time when there was milk alone.  Empty shelves in the supermarkets.  A diabolical side effect of communist thinking.  How to explain that to a capitalist who has never experienced that?  Wow.  It is enough.  Jordan has finished his exams!  He comes to the house and I meet another prince.  A prince who has had his heart captured by Princess Tiffany!  He brings flowers for her.  Princely behavior. Welcome, Prince Jordan!  You and I are going to get along just fine!  I know this even before I shake his hand.  I connect with Aaron on LinkedIn.  Future plans, possibilities.  Whatever it takes to remain at my princess’ side.  I show Jordan my language database.  He is impressed.  Aaron has said something in the line of education or the medical field requires language assistance, for there are many Hispanics here.  Maravilloso! No hay problema, será un placer! Done.  Wow. 

We take Pam’s car to get a tire sorted.  Princess Kim takes me to a video store.  I am all about princesses now.  I choose Snow White and Brave.  I remember who Snow White reminds me of.  Princess Adele!  Thank you, Princess Adele and Princess Chess, for you princesses know my heart more than many Princesses on this planet!  I feel Princess Chess is more of a Cinderella than a Sleeping Beauty, but that is not the point.  The point is, who does the princess feel she is?  Wow.  Ah yes, and Gibson’s “What Women Want.”  Endless possibilities.  Do you feel that?  Potential.  It’s everywhere. So our first fight has ended well after all.
