2012 December 22 (Saturday) : A Magical Day

I realize the irony of the words a magical day in heaven as I write them but this day still stands out in my memory as holding special meaning.  My princess’ family tradition at Christmas is to gather together at a pre-arranged time wherever they are in the world and dedicate time for each other, for Roger and Pam especially realize how precious life is and have created this culture of making memories that last a life time.  I remember remarking to my princess how privileged I feel once more, since last year exactly, I remember being on the other side of the Skype camera, in a house of stone, (Zimba reMabwe, Zimbabwe), watching the family giving me the gift of an example of a perfect life, but not realizing what a gift it is.  I remember being introduced to the family from a hot land, a ceiling fan offering some relief of one kind, a swimming pool offering relief of another, and there I was, sitting next to a princess and I did not know it, had no understanding of it yet.  Christmas 2011. 

Now here I sit today, Christmas 2012, sitting exactly on the other side of the Skype camera, in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, snow sheathing the scenery outside, the central heating offering relief of one kind, seemingly endless coffee and food, and mind boggling infrastructure offering relief of another and there I was, sitting next to the same princess and YES I KNOW IT, the Lord has peeled off one layer of His profundity in my life.  I am watching a miracle taking place, for the Princess now wears the symbol of my love for her.  She is mine like no other princess on this planet is mine.  I will do whatever it takes to stay by this princess’ side. I thank the Lord that I already have three job offers now, two in Chicago and one in Rockton and am already in the process of organizing job interviews, for this is where my heart is now. I cannot remain in a communist land when I have this profound appreciation of what a capitalist land offers, for I only have one heart to lose and my princess already holds it in her hands. 

I see the stark comparison of the communist-capitalist conundrum yet again in the conversations we have with loved ones in Zimbabwe and loved ones in Australia, the Land Down Under.  The Zimbabwe Skype connection offers limited video, the hassle of a dropped connection every few minutes, even audio experiencing issues intermittently. The Australia Skype connection is made once and for the ENTIRE conversation, with untrammeled video, excellent audio.  Once again the demonstration is made in front of my eyes of the vast chasm that separates the two mindsets like the one that separates the rich man in hell and Lazarus in heaven.  I MUST choose capitalism, for my princess holds my hand in hers and I am in heaven here.  Would one expect Lazarus to dip his finger in water, cross the chasm himself to cool the tormented rich man’s tongue?  It is enough. I see memories being made as presents are opened. 

My princess has bought me a special stainless steel bracelet with her name on it.  To show the other princesses that my heart belongs to another, this prince is now taken.  The miracle of those words.  Where will the Lord lead?  It matters not, I will follow. Literally piles of presents. Wow.  Back in heaven so quickly.  The Lord has the ability to transfer the spirit so quickly from earth to heaven and I have a new understanding of what the disciples themselves felt, to who else indeed would we go?  We MUST stay with Jesus for He alone has the ability to raise the dead, walk on water and do whatever else needs to be done. 

Wow.

I talk with Prince David himself.  He remarks on the history of the men in the family never changing family tradition until now. With Prince Keith. I realize that I did not do this intentionally, I just followed the Lord’s leading and HE made the change. Wow again.  For I WILL follow the Lord’s leading. I HAVE watched miracle after miracle take place this Christmas season.  I NEVER WANT THIS TO END.  I HAVE TO FOLLOW the Lord, even if He leads me to the torture and death of my physical body, for I know my spirit’s place is at His side, in His heaven, wherever He chooses, for He knows the plans He has for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me a hope and a future.  I KNOW this for He has confirmed this in writing, in black and white, yesterday in a slice of heaven they called Rockton, Illinois.  This has been my journey and I thank God and all His Princes and Princesses involved for the privilege of it. We have a delicious dinner once again and then go to meet Rocky and Lorena, Kim’s friends.  Real friends who have helped her through her depression.  I sense in Prince Rocky’s eyes he has an appreciation for the princess at his side, for he has a history with YWAM, he has seen the other side, lived on the other side as I have and he understands what it is to experience lack and then have a princess to be his companion.  Wow. 

We will also get along just fine, Prince Rocky!  I give him the link to my blog, for I am interested in his thoughts. We play the white elephant game, or Chinese auction, semantics really. Special times in the company of special people.  Memories to be cherished.   A magical day indeed.
