2013 January 4 (Friday) Capitalism

I learned yesterday about the five steps of capitalism.  As every capitalist knows, they are:

  1. Find a problem that EVERYONE is experiencing.

  2. Solve the problem.

  3. If you have not yet solved the problem due to lack of capital, find an investor who is ready and willing to invest money in the solution and convince him/her that your solution has enough merit to invest in.

  4. Ensure that all shareholders receive their dividends.

  5. Repeat.

Certainly simple enough.  So I have a couple of ideas in mind – three, in fact, with the database. Four if you count the book and five if that company is included, six if you were to consider this company and obviously THAT one could well be number seven.  You get the idea.  Quite a change from the one track thinking of my past which is a great change.  2013 is looking up certainly!

Today I started out to work as usual. I took along my solar light since I don’t really have a place close to a window that receives direct sunlight – more of a cottage in a shaded glade concept going on chez moi.  Obviously more comfortable in summer.  I took that up to the housekeeper’s on the 7th floor, since they have more of a chance of direct sunlight there than I do in the basement.  I spoke to my princess as I always do and heard her current concerns which I trust I helped her with.  It’s wonderful to connect with her daily and I am loving that!  I was able to go and organize her Valentine’s day gift – I know, not even 14th January, let alone close to 14th February, but Princess Kim is one organized lady when it comes to holidays and she has taught me a thing or three about pre-planning so I am definitely beating the February rush!

So I know those of you who are reading this will understand that I cannot say at this point what it is – it is a surprise for my princess and if and when she decides to share this with you, then you will know what it is!   I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have told me how much this blog has blessed you so far, I am pleased to know that it has started to have the effect that I believe the Lord has in mind for it.  So I have pretty much got fuel covered for January now and the Lord knows my needs and wants and the difference and I am learning to distinguish between the two more and more myself.

On my way back, I was confronted by one of the reasons I am currently glad to be leaving.  An increasing population trying to fit into a somniferous soke of a communist city. Now I understand I have not yet visited any other noteworthy communist country – Cuba, China, North Korea or Russia, and I fully appreciate how any communist may invite me to the Moscow mainstream for me to be gob smacked by the infrastructure that I have only read about and seen on TV at this point.  The scintillation of St Petersburg museum comes to mind, along with the majesty of the Moscow underground. I have, after all,  heard that even communists disagree with each other on the practice of communism, just as the Japanese may disagree with the Americans on certain aspects of capitalism.  After all, if the Lord made us all the same, it may well be a very dull world and no one wants that.

So back to my delight at my soon departure from the somniferous soke.  There just has not been any future planning.  Sure, it’s very good to say “multiply,” but if the people are multiplying and then getting in each other’s way, that’s not what was originally intended.  I understand we are still using the water infrastructure that was designed in 1965 here in 2013 and I have yet to find out how much the population has increased since then, but I know that if I leave my house after 0720 in the morning, I will meet most of them between where I am and where I want to get to, hence my preference of being up before sparrow’s fart and into the CBD before the world and it’s granny gets there first.

Now if anyone has broken the mold on population expansion, it is the Chinese, and yet they DO have public transportation, they have no issues [again, that I have heard of] regarding insufficient water or power cuts unless they get hit by EARTHQUAKES in which case, of course they are out of power and water for a time.

So I am thinking, “is it the fact that some people occasionally have to start again that makes them upgrade their infrastructure every now and again, or is it a combination?”  Quite a contrast from the spacing out of a place like Rockton, anyway.  Different strokes for different folks obviously.

This evening, I was invited to Christine’s and to meet Princess Rosemary and Princess Shelly who are lovely and I am sure I will enjoy getting to know them for the short time they are here.

Another side note to Princess Snow White.  I remember another time when I prayed to God to be able to see the world through your eyes.  I thank Him now, because I believe this prayer has now been answered.
